ItaloPlanner collects nothing about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. Nothing you type, photograph or save is sent to us, because there is no “us” to send it to — the app has no server.

What stays on your phone

Everything you create in the app is stored locally on the device, using Apple's on-device database. iCloud sync is switched off. None of it leaves the phone unless you send it somewhere yourself.

Your saved places, day plans and bookmarks
Your allergens, diets and preferences, including the name you use for restaurant bookings
Menus and wine lists you photograph, and the text read from them
Your location, used to work out walking distances and never transmitted by the app

Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no copy anywhere else.

What happens on the device

Reading a menu, translating text, and working out how to pronounce a dish all happen on the phone itself, using Apple's on-device frameworks. Photographs of menus are never uploaded.

The network requests the app makes

Finding places needs the internet. These are every request the app makes, and everything each one carries. None of them includes an account, a device identifier, or anything identifying you.

The app never sends a message on your behalf. Booking opens WhatsApp or Messages with the text prepared, and stops there. Nothing goes anywhere until you send it yourself.

Permissions, and what each is for

Location — only while you are using the app, to show what is within walking distance and how far. Refusing it costs you the Near Me screen and nothing else.
Camera — to photograph a menu or wine list so it can be read on the device. Photographs are not uploaded or stored beyond the scan.
Calendar — only if you choose to export a day plan as events.

Every one of these is optional, asked for at the moment it is needed, and refusable without breaking the rest of the app.

Children

ItaloPlanner is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. Since the app collects nothing, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a new use of your data.

Questions about privacy in ItaloPlanner can be sent to hello@italoplanner.com. Mail to that address is forwarded to a personal inbox and read by one person; it is not stored anywhere else, and nothing about it goes back into the app.
